Cosmic Circle Lineage - where we come from
.
.
Omaha’s Cosmic Circles were inspired by the work of Matthew Fox, an amazing theologian who created Cosmic Masses in the mid 90’s.

Matthew Fox might well be the most creative, the most comprehensive, surely the most challenging religious-spiritual teacher in America. He is the author of 28 books including “Original Blessing,” “The Reinvention of Work,” “Creativity: Where the Divine and the Human Meet,” “One River, Many Wells: Wisdom Springing from Global Faiths,” “A Spirituality Named Compassion, ” “Sins of the Spirit, Blessings of the Flesh,” “The Coming of the Cosmic Christ” and his most recent “A New Reformation!.”

Omaha’s first Cosmic Circle made a big splash at Sokol Hall in January 2008 with the theme Search For the Universal Sacred. There were giant puppets and water rituals and it was done in conjuction with Matthew Fox’s visit to Omaha. The Circle was created by folks from Connections, six of Omaha’s progressive Christian Churches - www.connectionsomaha.org, and by Steve Thyberg, the creator of the ongoing Circles.
